Monash's news wire,
Expands its global reach,
Europe's next in line.
Monash University's 360info journalism initiative sets sights on Europe
Monash University's public interest journalism initiative, 360info, is expanding into Europe.
Launched by Monash in 2021, 360info operates as an independent source of news features, informed by university research. To date, it has published more than 850 articles from 1200 academics from around the world. Its partner universities include the University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, Manav Rachna University, Shiv Nadar University and O.P. Jindal Global University.
The European expansion comes as part of a partnership with Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, which will fund the establishment of a new 360info editorial hub in the city.
This new Milan hub will join the existing network of 360info hubs operating out of Monash campuses in Caulfield, Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as partner universities in Sydney and India. The expansion marks a significant step in 360info's global growth strategy, which includes plans for further expansions into Africa and North America.
Monash Acting Provost and Senior Vice-President, Professor Sharon Pickering, said that 360info’s global expansion aligns with the University’s commitment to addressing global challenges for the benefit of communities. "This partnership is a testament to our commitment to fostering a global community of informed citizens," said Pickering.
360info founder and Editor in Chief Andrew Jaspan, said the new partnership marks the start of the digital news wire’s planned expansions into Europe, Africa and North America. "This is a significant milestone for 360info and a testament to the quality of our journalism," said Jaspan.
360info is an independent public interest journalism initiative that distributes content based on high-quality academic research to its international publishing partners, which currently represent more than 1000 media outlets, largely within the Asia Pacific.
