ICC men's Cricket World Cup shatters viewing records on Foxtel
The 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup has made a historic mark on Foxtel Group platforms, claiming the title of the most-watched ICC Men’s World Cup ever. The tournament saw a 46% increase in viewership from the previous 2019 tournament and an 800% surge in streaming.
The final match between Australia and India, in particular, set a new record as the most streamed event ever on Kayo Sports, with over 2.5 million streams. Australia’s World Cup campaign averaged 223,000 viewers per match, with the final drawing in 494,000 viewers. This represents a significant 225% increase from the 2019 final.
Kayo Mini’s, the bite-size highlights packages, also enjoyed considerable success. Two packages spotlighting Glenn Maxwell’s innings had 317,000 and 97,000 streams respectively.
Julian Ogrin, Managing Director of Kayo Sports, said: 'What a way to end an incredible World Cup. To see so many fans stream the match as the Aussies rose to a spectacular victory, from watching the live action on Sunday night to catching up or re-watching via our Kayo Minis, it was a fantastic night for Aussie sport.'
