Qantas unveils first 'travel week' sale, slashes prices on 20,000 seats
Qantas has launched its inaugural 'Travel Week' sale, offering discounted fares on over 20,000 seats across 60 international routes for eight days. The sale is timed to kick off right in the thick of Black Friday promotional activity across the retail ecosystem.
The sale includes popular destinations such as Japan, USA, Canada, and New Zealand, with a range of travel dates throughout 2025, including the October school holiday period.
International economy sale fares departing Australia start from $539 return to Christchurch, with other destinations including Honolulu, Los Angeles, and cities across New Zealand. The 'Travel Week' sale also includes both cash fares and the recently launched reward seat - Classic Plus, allowing Frequent Flyers to use their Qantas Points to purchase sale fares, which are also eligible for upgrades.
Return Classic Plus fares include 53,500 points from Sydney to Tokyo (Haneda, Economy), 41,700 points from Brisbane to Auckland (Premium Economy), and 467,100 points from Melbourne to Dallas (Business). Classic Plus fares include a cash component of taxes, fees, and carrier charges. All Qantas fares include checked baggage, complimentary food and beverages, and seat selection.
The sale fares are available until 11:59 pm (AEDT) Wednesday 4 December 2024, unless sold out prior. Fares are available for select travel dates from January through to October 2025 with some blackout periods.
"We’re seeing more and more Australians travelling to Japan, with Tokyo as one of our most in-demand destinations on the Qantas international network. From the unique blend of traditional and contemporary cuisine to the allure of iconic landmarks like Mt. Fuji, we’re delighted to include Japan in our Travel Week sale, among other trending routes and travel spots such as Honolulu, Los Angeles and Queenstown," said CEO Qantas International Cam Wallace.
