Triple M is 'Going for Bronze' with daily Paris Olympics recap
Triple M has launched a new live national show with former Triple J hosting duo Matt Okine and Alex Dyson to coincide with the Paris Olympics.
Set to air from Monday 29 July, 'Matt & Alex Going for Bronze', will provide a daily recap of events from the Paris Games, all delivered with a comedic twist. The show will be broadcast from 12 pm to 1 pm across the Triple M network in Australia.
The show promises to offer a unique blend of sports coverage and comedy. Alongside the hosts, former Olympian Georgie Parker will join the show, as well as special guests from across the country and the world. The show will feature highlights, behind-the-scenes banter, sketches, songs, and memorable moments, while keeping listeners updated on the medal tally.
Head of Triple M Metro Content, Matthew O’Reilly, said: “For the next two weeks the eyes of the world will be focused on Paris and the amazing athletic achievements, so having Matt and Alex host Going For Bronze is the perfect pairing of sport and comedy."
The show's title, 'Going for Bronze', is a playful nod to the name Mick Molloy and Billy Birmingham created for the Sydney 2000 Games. When not hosting 'Going for Bronze', Matt and Alex host the 'Matt & Alex All Day Breakfast' podcast on LiSTNR.
"As someone who once came dead last in a high jump competition because I failed to clear the opening height, it feels only right that I would be gifted a platform to judge and critique the world's greatest athletes," said Okine.
"Going for Bronze will combine my two loves: talking about elite sports, and only working every 4 years. I can’t wait for the starter’s pistol to fire," said Dyson.
