Publicis Groupe's Mike Rebelo to replace Mark Green as ACA chair
Publicis Group ANZ chief Michael Rebelo has been appointed as the new Chair of Advertising Council Australia (ACA). He succeeds Mark Green following the former Accenture Song ANZ lead's relocation to New York City to become the Global CEO of Droga5.
Lindsey Evans, Partner & CEO of Special Australia, will fill the vacant Deputy Chair role, joining Laura Aldington, Co-Founder of Supermassive, who has held the Deputy Chair position since 2021.
Rebelo, known for his strategic leadership and passion for creativity over more than two decades at Publicis Groupe and its agencies, has held the Deputy Chair position since 2017 and is crediting with playing an instrumental role in advancing ACA's work to ensure the long-term prosperity of the industry.
"Mike is a passionate and experienced figure in Australian advertising, and his extensive knowledge, strategic insight, and vision make him the ideal leader to steer ACA and its Board into the future. The industry will thrive under his stewardship," said Green. The outgoing chair was first appointed to the position in 2018.
"I'm honoured to build on the strong foundation Mark has established. His leadership, particularly in shining a light on the commercial value of creativity, has set a high standard, and I'd like to thank him for his dedication and impact. Looking ahead, I'm excited to work closely with our esteemed Board and members to champion creativity as the driving force of commercial growth," said Rebelo.
Mark Green's tenure as Chair was marked by significant achievements, including renaming, rebranding, and repositioning ACA, launching The Growth Agenda, securing Cannes Lions representation, and revitalising the Effies.
"Mike's expertise and vision make him the right leader for ACA at this pivotal time. I also want to extend heartfelt thanks to Greeny for his outstanding leadership. His dedication has driven meaningful progress and built a stronger, future-focused industry, a legacy that will be felt for years to come," said ACA CEO, Tony Hale,
