Canva Dreams up AI-powered workplace solutions off Leonardo.Ai acquisition
Canva has taken the wrappers off a suite of AI-fuelled workplace solutions and upgrades five months after unveiling its enterprise approach and three months after acquiring Leonardo.Ai.
The company is introducing Dream Lab, a high-fidelity generative AI tool powered by Leonardo.AI’s Phoenix foundational model. Dream Lab has the capability to transform creative ideas from text descriptions into dynamic photos and graphics. Features of Dream Lab include generating multiple variations in different styles including 3D Renders and illustrations, using an existing image as a style reference to influence output, and creating complex multi-subject images and photorealistic portraits. Canva's AI tools have reportedly surpassed 10 billion interactions.
The company's Visual Suite is also being upgraded with over 40 new features stemming from community feedback. These include AI-powered sorting and summarising within Whiteboards, new AI functionalities in Magic Write, and enhancements to Canva Video, Whiteboards, Docs, and Presentations.
In a bid to expand its content library, Canva is partnering with Artlist and Pocstock, adding music, cinematic video assets, plus 150,000 diverse photos from Pocstock. The company is also adding solutions for small businesses, teachers, and students with the expansion of its Work Kits collection.
Canva said its tools are widely used among Fortune 500 companies, and cited 95% are utilising the platform for visual content creation and collaboration. The platform has seen over 2.5 billion Presentations and 500 million Canva Docs created to date.
