PMY Group steps into creative with Kojo acquisition, eyes sports and entertainment industry shake-up

PMY Group, a leading technology partner for live environments, has announced its acquisition of KOJO, an award-winning creative studio. The strategic move is aimed at reshaping the sports and entertainment landscape by merging KOJO's creative prowess with PMY's technological capabilities.

KOJO has a track record of delivering iconic screen stories, immersive brand experiences and sporting events. Its portfolio includes collaborations with major sporting organisations such as the AFL, Cricket Australia, NRL, and FIFA, as well as iconic brands like BMW, MINI, and Wesfarmers.

"KOJO has made a remarkable impact in the Australian and New Zealand markets, and we’ve long admired their work. Their unique capabilities are a valuable addition to PMY that is both new and exciting for our clients and people, and we look forward to supporting KOJO as they continue to deliver world-class experiences in Australia, New Zealand, and around the globe," said Paul Yeomans, CEO of PMY.

PMY Group, with a presence in 15 countries and a diverse client base of over 1,000 venues, major events, and rights holders, provides technology solutions that optimise the operations, experiences, and intelligence of venues and major events. The combination of PMY's technological innovation and KOJO's creative excellence is expected to deliver extraordinary live experiences on a global scale.

"This is an exciting opportunity for KOJO to expand our global impact. Our shared values, culture, and collective vision of creating unforgettable experiences align perfectly, and together, we’ll push the boundaries of what’s possible in sport, events, and entertainment," said Stephen Lord, CEO of KOJO.

Post-merger, KOJO’s leadership team, staff, operations, locations, and brand will continue, but now with the strategic, operational, and technological backing of PMY. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

"Bringing this combined capability of creative expertise and technological innovation to our partners and clients is essential. As we move through this exciting green & gold decade in Australia, the blend of creativity and technology is becoming more impactful than ever. We are uniquely positioned to deliver transformative experiences that will elevate how venues, events, and organisations operate across the region," said Emily McGrath, EGM APAC at PMY.

"By combining our passion for creativity with PMY’s technological innovation, we’re ready to deliver even more impactful experiences to audiences. We’re excited to embark on this journey together and deliver compelling outcomes for our staff, clients, and partners by seamlessly bringing together strategy, production, creativity, and technology," added Dale Roberts, Managing Director of KOJO.
