ING, Bendigo Bank, Commbank dominate Finder's Banking Customer Satisfaction Awards
Comparison site Finder has unveiled the winners of its Banking Customer Satisfaction Awards, recognising companies in the banking and lending sectors across eleven categories, including bank accounts, credit cards, and home loans.
The awards were conducted in partnership with Dynata, polling over 10,000 Australians across the Customer Satisfaction Awards program. Brands were evaluated by Australians across a range of metrics such as fees and interest rates, customer service, features and benefits, and ease of application.
ING was named Australia’s ‘Most Loved’ and ‘Most Trusted’ brand for owner occupier home loans. Bendigo Bank won the ‘Legendary Service’ customer service award. CommBank was voted Australia’s ‘Most Loved’ for investor home loans while Macquarie Bank was named the ‘Most Trusted’. ING took out the overall ‘Most Loved’ home loan brand for 2024.
Bendigo Bank won all three Customer Satisfaction Awards in the credit card category, being named the ‘Most Loved’, ‘Most Trusted’, and having ‘Legendary Service’. Neobank UP is the country’s ‘Most Loved’ bank account and banking app, while ING is the ‘Most Trusted’ within both categories. For those sending money abroad, Wise is the ‘Most Loved’ and ‘Most Trusted’ brand in the country with PayPal winning the ‘Legendary Service’ award. Afterpay is the ‘Most Loved’ BNPL brand with ‘Legendary Service’ and CommBank’s AdvancePay the ‘Most Loved’ in the Pay Advance category.
“Who you bank with is an essential part of your financial foundation, otherwise you're guessing with your money,” said personal finance expert at Finder, Sarah Megginson. “Getting good value for money from your banking products has never been more important as households struggle to stay on top of their everyday expenses.”
“Just 13% of Aussies have switched their home loan in the past six months. If you’re not satisfied with your bank it’s a great time to take stock of your options and to look for a better rate and better overall service," added Megginson.
“Bendigo Bank was the clear standout in the credit card category, scoring a huge 4.7/5 for customer service, 4.6/5 for ease of application and 4.5/5 for features and benefits,” she said. She also commended Up for its high score for features and benefits and Wise for its speed of transfer and associated features and benefits."
