Leo Burnett Australia announces trio of key internal promotions
Leo Burnett Australia has revealed three sizeable internal promotions across creative and general management.
Andy Fergusson, previously the National Executive Creative Director, has been promoted to the role of Chief Creative Officer. Ferguson has a track record of leading award-winning work, including Suncorp’s ‘Resilience’ brand platform and Diageo’s ‘Bundy Mixer’.
Julia Sheehan has been appointed as Melbourne General Manager, moving up from her role as Head of Business Management. Sheehan replaces Kate Silver, who has left the business after eight years. Sheehan, who has been with the agency for seven years, has worked with clients including HBF, Saputo and Lifeblood.
Marijke Spain has been promoted from Associate Creative Director to Creative Director. Spain has led some of Leo Burnett’s most-awarded work over the last few years and has been instrumental in building a strong client relationship with Suncorp.

Publicis Groupe ANZ, Michael Rebelo, was also pleased to see Julia step up as Melbourne GM.

Silver meanwhile is leaving Leo Burnett to spend more time with her family.
"I’ve been fortunate to have worked with some amazing people, two incredible female CEOs and a swathe of excellent clients. I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved, and while I feel ready for a new chapter, I’m also sad to say goodbye to a place that has given me so much," she said.
