Gerety Awards 2024: Australian agencies shine on global shortlist
Australian agencies have made a strong showing in the Gerety Awards shortlist for 2024, with works by Howatson+Company, Bullfrog, Bang Bang Studios, HERO, and Saatchi & Saatchi making the cut.
The awards aim to redefine the standard to which advertising has traditionally been held. This year's shortlist features entries from 35 different countries, with a total of 394 entries. The most shortlisted category is the 'Work for Good Cut' with 93 entries, followed by 'Craft' with 86 entries.
The most shortlisted campaigns include works by Jung von Matt AG, Hamburg; 72 and Sunny Los Angeles; Heimat TBWA, Berlin; and Commonwealth//McCann Detroit. The most shortlisted agency is Jung von Matt AG, Hamburg, while the most shortlisted network is VML from 12 different countries. The most shortlisted holding company is Omnicom, followed by IPG and WPP.
The 'Agency and Production Company of the Year by Country' winners include Dentsu Inc., BETC, Jung von Matt AG, Hamburg, Sioux & Cyranos, Impact BBDO, Adam&EveDDB, Dentsu Creative, Finch, Czar, Papaya Films, Bambina Films, and Biscuit Filmworks.
The final winners will be announced on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. The Gerety 2024 partners include Mastercard, The Industry Club, VML, Adobe, and Tantor Films. This year's shortlist reflects the global reach and impact of creative advertising, with Australian agencies demonstrating their ability to compete on the world stage.
The Awards were named after Frances Gerety, the copywriter who coined the slogan 'A diamond is forever'.
