Yango appointed by BYD to drive electric vehicle launch in Australia
Independent media agency Yango has been selected by multinational electric vehicle company BYD to launch its brand and multiple vehicle options in the Australian market.
BYD, which recently overtook Tesla in Q4 2023 to become the world's largest electric vehicle manufacturer, is known for its high-tech involvement in industries related to electronics, auto, renewable energy, and rail transit. The company is listed on both the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
BYD's most recent model, the Seal, sold out within weeks, creating a backlog of orders. This rapid sales pace reflects the company's aggressive growth goals and the fast-paced, hyper-growth nature of the electric vehicle category.
"Yango is an incredibly agile and responsive partner, their expertise has been invaluable since launching the brand here in Australia," says Noelle Haddad, Chief of Staff at EV Direct, the exclusive distributor of BYD in Australia.
Yango's role for BYD includes media strategy, planning and buying, and working with the senior management and marketing teams to maximise brand awareness and drive new vehicle sales through BYD’s innovative online procurement process.
"This category is experiencing hyper growth, it’s fast paced and exciting to be involved. BYD demands a performance mindset and we have developed a collaborative and agile working model to meet their needs. The application of digital expertise alongside an innovative data and measurement strategy has been implemented to align with BYD’s aggressive growth goals. It’s an exciting win for Yango," says Luke Povee, Managing Partner at Yango.
Yango is a full-service independent media agency. The agency works with a range of clients including Toby’s Estate, Acto Pharma, Frasers Property Industrial, Scape Student Accommodation, Parramatta Eels, Education Services Australia, and Goliath Games.
