Thinkerbell secures agency partnership with GWM Australia & New Zealand

Just hours after The Hallway signed off, Thinkerbell has confirmed it's been appointed agency partner for GWM Australia and New Zealand, following a competitive pitch process.

The agency will be responsible for strategy and creative across brand, retail, dealer and sponsorships for GWM, a leading producer of high-quality SUVs and Utes. As reported this morning, The Hallway bowed out of working with GWM after working with the auto brand since late 2021 as part of a mandatory requirement that it regularly review its agency roster.

GWM operates in over 170 countries and is also a global leader in the New Energy Vehicle space, offering powertrain options including hybrid, PHEV and EV. The company has sold over 21,000 new cars in Australia this year and was sitting in 9th position for brands in Australia in May 2024.

"Thinkerbell’s body of work over the past few years has been impressive and we look forward to working with them, delving into their ‘Measured Magic’ and partnering together to take the GWM brand to the next level" said Steve Maciver, Head of Marketing & Communications, GWM Australia & New Zealand.

Jaime Morgan, Thinkerbell’s Managing Director, also expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “GWM has been going from strength to strength with record sales, excellent new products and outstanding value. We are thrilled to be their agency partner and we look forward to working together with them to further enliven the brand with a big dose of Measured Magic”.

The appointment is effective from October 1, 2024.
