Samsung kicks off global Olympic and Paralympic campaign ahead of Paris Opening Ceremony
As part of its Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic partnership, Samsung Electronics has officially launched its 'Open Always Wins' campaign ahead of the Paris 2024 opening ceremony on Friday evening.
The campaign features Team Samsung Galaxy skateboarder Aurélien Giraud (France), Para sprinter Johannes Floors (Germany), and breakdancer Sarah Bee (France).
"As a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, Samsung has been driving innovation and delivering cutting-edge technology and experiences at the Games for nearly 40 years,” said President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, TM Roh.
“Samsung has championed the Olympic spirit — and has been enabling meaningful connection — since its very first Olympic Games in 1988,” said EVP and Head of Marketing of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, Stephanie Choi. “For Paris 2024, Samsung’s latest innovation and technology will support the staging of the Games and will help deliver on its promise to be the most open Games ever. The brand’s ‘Open always wins’ message reflects this alignment of values and will be featured throughout Samsung’s Paris 2024 programming.”
For Paris 2024, Team Samsung Galaxy is made up of over 25 Olympians and Paralympians, including several athletes from some of the Games’ newest sports, celebrating Samsung's core values of open-mindedness and self-expression. Surfer Jack Robinson represents Australia on the team.
In addition to the campaign, Samsung has announced the opening of its "Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung" Champs-Elysées 125 showcase. The showcase, designed in collaboration with Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, will take fans on a journey to Paris 2024 through iconic experiences. Visitors will be able to relive past Games highlights with Galaxy, explore Samsung’s latest innovations, and create memories with Galaxy AI.
"We’re excited to see our shared values celebrated for these ‘Games wide open’ at this Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung,” said Managing Director, IOC Television and Marketing Services, Anne-Sophie Voumard.
Samsung has also given out 17,000 Galaxy Z Flip6 smart phones, exclusively designed and customised for all athletes competing at the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024.
The brand has also launched a three-part docuseries, spotlighting the skateboarding, breaking, and surfing communities on the Road to Paris 2024. The first in the series, “Concrete Dreams”, which spotlights the skateboarding community’s journey to the Olympics, is now live on Samsung’s YouTube Channel, with the breaking and surfing series to be released on April 25 and May 21 respectively, and premiere at PBT’s Atlanta event and WSL’s event in Tahiti.
