REA Group pledges $122,000 to Nedd Brockmann's Uncomfortable Challenge
News Corp's property media business REA Group has pledged $122,000 to Nedd Brockmann's Uncomfortable Challenge, a campaign aimed at tackling homelessness. The donation amount symbolises the number of Australians who experience homelessness on any given night.
Nedd Brockmann, an electrician turned runner, is attempting to run the fastest 1,000 miles ever to raise $10 million for We Are Mobilise, a charity focused on helping Australians who experience homelessness. REA Group's pledge to Brockmann's Uncomfortable Challenge follows a previous fundraising event, Ready24, which raised more than $400,000 in support of community organisations.
REA Group has a history of partnering with community organisations working to end homelessness.
REA Group Chief Executive Officer, Owen Wilson, said: "REA’s purpose is to change the way the world experiences property, this includes those experiencing homelessness. Everybody deserves a safe place to sleep every night and we’re so pleased to make a $122,000 pledge to Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge."
