News Corp's Bronwyn podcast cracks the top 5, LiSTNR holds Australian Podcast sales ranking for 22nd time

The Bronwyn podcast from News Corp Australia / Nova has cracked the top five podcasts in this month’s Australian Podcast Ranker in what is otherwise a very similar most popular show mix to June.

Hamish & Andy from LiSTNR remains the number one podcast in Australia for the 22nd time, with 848,612 monthly listeners. In second spot was again Audioboom’s Casefile True Crime podcast (842,060 monthly listeners), followed by ABC News Top Stories (586,919) and Mamamia Out loud (498,046). Making its debut into fifth spot was the Bronwyn podcast by News Corp Australia / Nova Entertainment, with 496,544 monthly listeners.

By contrast, Shameless dropped two places into seventh position, with 471,430 monthly listeners. Also falling down the rankings was The Kyle & Jackie O Show, which fell three positions to ninth with 377,894 monthly listeners.

LiSTNR was touting its position as Australia’s number one sales representation podcast network nationally for the 22nd time, reaching more monthly listeners than its competitors in June as per the Australian Podcast Ranker. A big mover within its portfolio is Abbie Chatfield’s ‘It’s a lot’ which celebrated its largest audience so far since debuting in 2019, chalking up 315,587 monthly listeners.

Meanwhile, Acast’s Australian True Crime podcast series was up three places with 240,820 monthly listeners.

Alongside Abbie Chatfield, LiSTNR said its sport focused podcasts led the charge with strong audience growth, including Triple M Footy AFL (up three places to 169,861 monthly listeners), The Rush Hour with JB & Billy (up six places to 129,970 monthly listeners) and Triple M Rocks Footy NRL, which was up seven places with 75,762 monthly listeners. In addition, Ben and Harry made their debut on the All Australian Podcast Ranker.

Other strong performers for the network included Motley Fool Money, which jumped eight places to 54,166 monthly listeners in June.

Overall, LiSTNR’s sales representation network had 63 podcasts in the Top 200 Australian Podcast Ranker in June, and 38 titles in the All Australian Top 200.

“As LiSTNR continues to be the leading sales representation network, it’s great to see the LiSTNR sales team increasing its podcast revenue across June to finish +25% year-on-year,” Executive Head of LiSTNR Podcasts, Grant Tothill, said.

“For Hamish & Andy to continue as Australia’s favourite podcast, and for Abbie to achieve her best monthly audience, is a real credit not only to Hamish and Andy and Abbie, but also their respective teams.”
