A leader steps down,
Transition smooth, future bright,
OMG moves on.
Peter Horgan to exit OMG, search for successor underway
Omnicom Media Group (OMG) chief executive Peter Horgan has stepped down from his role after 21 years with the media group and eight years in the top job.
The search is already underway for a replacement, with Horgan to remain in the role until mid-2025 to ensure a smooth transition. Once the incoming CEO is identified, Horgan will move into the position of chair to support a successful onboarding, and will remain in the role until further notice.
"It has been a privilege to lead the exceptional OMG teams across Australia and New Zealand, and I thank you all. Nothing is forever, and I'm grateful to Tony for supporting my next chapter. My focus now is to set up OMG for ongoing success," said Horgan.
Horgan first became CEO of OMD Australia in 2011, and was later promoted to OMG ANZ CEO in 2016. He's also been chair of industry body the Media Federation of Australia (MFA) since 2014.
His efforts as CEO included driving transparent business practices and forging long-term relationships with blue-chip advertisers.
"Horgs has played a key role in elevating OMG's competitive edge during his time with us, and this transition marks a natural evolution of his commitment to the continued success of our organisation. At OMG, we are dedicated to support our leaders in their long-term succession planning strategy. As such, over the last few months, Horgs and I have been working closely to identify the best leadership succession for our Australian and New Zealand businesses. We have taken a deliberate approach to ensure the individual aligns with OMG's values, business ambitions, and possesses the vision to advance our 'Agency as a Platform' proposition," said CEO of Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific, Tony Harradine.
OMG is the media services division of Omnicom Group.
