Twilio appoints Box's Chris Koehler as chief marketing officer
Customer engagement platform, Twilio, the appointed Chris Koehler as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), replacing Joyce Kim, who exited the business in November to join cloud security provider, Zscaler.
Koehler will be responsible for overseeing Twilio's global marketing strategy, with a focus on expanding brand awareness in key markets and amplifying product innovation.
He brings with him over 25 years of experience in leading marketing, customer success, solution consulting, demand generation, and enablement teams. Prior to joining Twilio, he served as CMO at cloud content management company, Box, and has held positions at the likes of Adobe Systems and Claritas.
"What particularly impresses me about Chris is his no nonsense style and hands on approach," said CEO at Twilio,Khozema Shipchandler. "Chris' strong background in product will help strengthen how we market and position our increasingly sophisticated suite of customer solutions in this next chapter of the company."
In his new role, Koehler will be tasked with growing market share across Twilio Communications and Segment, and driving messaging and positioning for Twilio's customer engagement platform. He will report directly to Twilio's CEO, Khozema Shipchandler.

Twilio's management team has recently expanded with the hires of Chris Koehler, Inbal Shani, and Thomas Wyatt. Shani, previously from GitHub, is the Chief Product Officer for Twilio Communications. Wyatt, previously from People.ai, is the President of Segment at Twilio.
