AJF veterans launch 'Joint Effort Creative', a new consultancy

Former AJF co-owner Josh Stephens and Creative Director George Freckleton have launched a new advertising, brand, and marketing consultancy named Joint Effort Creative.

Both Stephens and Freckleton have extensive experience in the industry, having previously worked with agency networks Y&R, George Patts, and Clemenger Group. The pair also had a role to play in transforming AJF into one of Australia's largest and most successful independent creative agencies. Stephens left AJF in December 2022, and Freckleton in November 2023.

The duo have decorated careers, boasting numerous awards including international wins at Cannes, D&AD, and One Show, as well as local accolades including 2 Grand Effies. Their portfolio includes work with leading organisations such as Bega, Target, CUB, Lion, GMH, Remedy Drinks, iSelect, Mazda, Nintendo, Catch, Specsavers, Simply Energy, Cobs, Bendigo Bank, Jodi Lee Foundation, Australian Defence Force, Coles, Visit Victoria, Cadbury, Cricket Australia, Australian Federal Government, and the AFL.

"Building a successful agency with my partners and the people at AJF was a remarkable experience. We had a great time working on big brands with wonderful clients and fantastic suppliers. Now it’s time to get that buzz back. Joint Effort is about experienced creatives working directly with likeminded clients. We help bring together only the skillsets required to get the best results. No layers. Nothing unnecessary. Just smart people working together with clear shared objectives," said Stephens.

George Freckleton added, "That sounds great. I’m in."
