Tata Consultancy Services takes title partnership with Sydney Marathon
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been announced as the title partner of the Sydney Marathon.
The partnership comes as the Sydney Marathon strives to attain the status of an Abbott World Marathon Major (AWMM), a move that would bring the race to the global stage and increase its economic impact on Sydney and New South Wales.
TCS, the world's largest marathon sponsor, will bring its expertise to support the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS candidate race.
Alongside the headline event sponsorship, the Family Fun Run will be transformed into the TCS Sydney Mini Marathon, promoting healthy, active living. Hayley Pymont will be appointed as the TCS Sydney Marathon Indigenous Running Ambassador, representing the Indigenous Marathon Foundation (IMF) and promoting the power of running for Indigenous communities across Australia.
TCS will also work with Sydney Marathon organisers to establish a sustainability framework for the future of the race. The event will be certified through the Council for Responsible Sport’s ReScore app, developed by TCS. TCS has partnered with the NSW Department of Education to inspire the next generation and accelerate sustainability innovation. The TCS Sydney Marathon goIT challenge will empower NSW students aged 6-17 to use design thinking and technology to create sustainable solutions for the marathon.

TCS CMO, Abhinav Kumar, said the partnership with Sydney Marathon is aligned with TCS’ commitment to be a true transformation partner for clients, communities, "and the ecosystems we live and work within".

The Sydney Marathon, first held on April 30, 2000, attracts 40,000 runners from over 100 countries annually and has raised over $26.5 million for charitable organisations since its inception.
