Melbourne's The Working Party expands ecommerce expertise to New Zealand

Melbourne-based ecommerce agency, The Working Party, is extending its operations into New Zealand.

The Shopify Plus agency, operational since 2011, has worked with brands such as JB Hi-Fi, KOOKAÏ, Assembly Label, Lovisa, and Deus Ex-Machina. This expansion is part of the agency's strategy to enhance eCommerce capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region.

The Working Party has seen a team growth of 35% since 2023, growth it attributes to strategic investments in talent acquisition across operational and planning functions. The agency recently hosted an exclusive retailer dinner in Auckland, New Zealand, in partnership with Klaviyo, as part of its expansion celebration.

"New Zealand's got talent! Through partnering with a number of clients in the region over the past 12 months to assist with their eCommerce strategy and implementation, we discovered a number of highly skilled professionals in this space, spanning development, design, strategy, and delivery, and brought them on board to join our team," said Kelly Brown, Co-Founder of The Working Party.

The agency already has a presence in New Zealand, working with brands such as Superette and 99 Bikes. In addition to its New Zealand expansion, The Working Party continues to attract new clients in Australia, including ModiBodi, Swimwear Galore, and CSD Brands.

"The NZ retail industry is full of established and emerging brands that we would like to work with more closely to really amplify the talented work taking place here. By formalising our operations in New Zealand, we hope to demonstrate our commitment to be a part of these brands' unique growth journeys," Brown added.

The Working Party has introduced a new initiative, the Growth Framework, for select brands using Shopify Plus. This program aims to improve ecommerce practices and enhance key metrics such as conversion rate, average order value, and repeat customer rate.

"Since its launch, our Growth Framework has resonated with brands like Leo Lin and Alpha-H, who join esteemed labels such as DISSH and Camilla. We're excited about the potential to drive significant eCommerce growth for our partners and set them up for ongoing success," Brown concluded.
