Meltwater and Microsoft unveil copilot: a next-gen communications assistant
Meltwater has partnered with Microsoft to launch an AI-powered assistant that will help users to surface real-time insights such as brand mentions, sentiment analysis, key issues, and competitive benchmarking, within their Teams environments.
The Meltwater Copilot uses AI to simplify search creation in Meltwater using natural language, bringing context and recommendations to simplify and streamline reporting and tasks like writing press releases, introducing summaries to keep teams updated on competitor activity and industry trends, and speeding up influencer discovery.
Meltwater Copilot is built on Microsoft’s technology stack—including Microsoft, Microsoft Azure Open AI Service, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365. The tool allows users to interact with Meltwater data using conversational language, making insights easily accessible and actionable.
The new product is available to a limited group of joint Meltwater and Microsoft customers, launching as part of Meltwater’s Mid-Year Release, which includes other innovations powered by Meltwater’s AI engine.
The new suite of products also includes a new AI search assistant that simplifies search creation in Meltwater Explore with ChatGPT APIs, allowing users to create searches with a natural language request. There's also a new unified AI assistant runs across the Meltwater experience, capable of understanding context, making recommendations, and handling tasks ranging from writing press releases to creating reports.
Meanwhile, Daily Digest AI Overviews provide summaries of the most important news and coverage every day, and AI-Powered Influencer Discovery fast tracks influencer discovery with AI-powered suggested influencers.
Meltwater’s Chief Product Officer, Chris Hackney, said: “At Meltwater, our goal is to ensure technology serves the needs of our users. We don’t just add features for the sake of novelty or to ride the latest tech trend. Our focus is on empowering our customers to achieve remarkable outcomes with solutions that truly simplify their workflows and effort levels.”
Vice President of Communications Strategy at Microsoft, Steve Clayton, said: “The work Microsoft and Meltwater are doing will help reinvent the communications industry with the power of AI. Together we are putting tools in the hands of the practitioners that combine the art and science of communications and delivering this capability in a more natural, intuitive way where people are already getting things done – in Microsoft Teams.”
