A cleaning lifeline,
Godfreys workers find new hope,
In Jim's franchise scope.
Jim's Cleaning Group offers lifeline to sacked Godfreys workers with free franchises
Jim's Cleaning Group, a division of the larger Jim's Group, is extending a helping hand to sacked Godfreys workers hit by the retailer and manufacturing brand's fall into administration by offering them free cleaning franchises.
The franchises, which are typically valued up to $35,000, come with free training, providing a unique opportunity for the displaced workers to remain in the industry.
"Cleaning is one of the biggest industries in our country. At Jim's Cleaning, we work with hospitals, aged care facilities, corporates, government, schools, all types of businesses as well as providing services to households and we can not get enough people to do the work," said Haydar Hussein, representative of Jim's Cleaning Group.
The move comes as Jim's Cleaning Group struggles to keep up with the growing volume of cleaning jobs. The company, which claims to be the largest cleaning franchise business in the country with over 1600 franchises, is in dire need of more franchises to meet the demand.
"Clearly the staff at Godfreys have a passion for cleaning and we want them to join us. We need more franchisees to respond to the growing amount of work and leads we are receiving all over the country," Hussein explained.
Godfrey's went into administration just days ago, with PwC appointed to oversee the administration process. Reports state the group has 141 stores and employs more than 600 staff across Australia and New Zealand, with an additional 28 stores run by franchisees.
The only costs new franchisees will need to cover are consumables such as uniforms, equipment, and chemicals. Jim's Cleaning Group will provide the leads and support for the new franchisees.
"Normally our franchises cost between $25,000 to $35,000, but we want to help the staff at Godfreys and offer them an opportunity to stay in the industry and earn more money," Hussein said.
Hussein said Godfreys staff will already be familiar with Jim's Cleaning Products, which are Enzyme based, similar to those sold by Godfreys. This familiarity could potentially ease the transition for the new franchisees.
"We have work ready for them and we can get them set up and started almost immediately. This is the perfect win-win outcome for everyone and it will enable the staff at Godfreys to secure a new future for themselves," Hussein added.
Jim's Group comprises over 1600 franchisees and has six divisions: Home and Office Cleaning, Mobile Car Detailing, Carpet Cleaning, Window Cleaning, Pressure Cleaning, and Blind Cleaning and Repairs.
