Salesforce buys up data management firm Zoomin to boost Data Cloud

Global CRM tech business Salesforce has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Zoomin, a data management provider for unstructured data. The acquisition is set to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce's fiscal year 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.

Zoomin's capabilities will be incorporated into Salesforce's Data Cloud, with the aim of unlocking unstructured data to power AI agents and make them more personalised and context-aware in customer interactions. Salesforce's Agentforce is expected to gain new levels of intelligence, enabling customers to build AI that provides real-time, data-informed responses and actions tailored to individual customer needs.

Zoomin has been a Salesforce App Exchange partner since 2018 and a Salesforce Ventures portfolio company since 2019. Hundreds of Salesforce customers are already using Zoomin's unified knowledge product to deliver intuitive experiences to their customers, partners, and employees.

EVP & GM, Unified Data Services & Einstein at Salesforce, Rahul Auradkar, said: "Proprietary unstructured data is powerful fuel our customers can use for AI agents and customer experiences, and Zoomin's proven expertise and technology will accelerate Data Cloud's innovation and enable our customers to get better value from Agentforce."

CEO of Zoomin, Gal Oron, said: "We're both humbled and excited to join forces with Salesforce. It's a natural progression of our long-standing and evolving partnership. As organisations are accelerating their enterprise AI transformation, our joint mission is to support them and make sure AI doesn't hit the data wall. As part of the #1 AI CRM, we will allow customers to leverage their existing enterprise data in ways they never imagined possible."

The transaction does not result in any change to Salesforce's current financial guidance previously provided in August 2024, and no further financial details will be disclosed.
