News.com.au claims top spot in January with over 13 million audience reach
News.com.au, Australia's leading digital news brand, has reported an audience reach of over 13 million in January 2024, according to Ipsos iris rankings.
This figure represents a 3.1% month-on-month increase, placing News.com.au's audience 1.657 million ahead of its closest competitor. The site reportedly reached one in two online Australians, with an average time spent on the site of 28 minutes per person.
News.com.au also led in various news categories including Entertainment, Finance, Lifestyle, Sport, Technology, and Travel, with respective audiences of 5.05 million, 5.38 million, 5.35 million, 4.51 million, 2.692 million, and 2.48 million. This is the fourth time the website has had a monthly audience of over 13 million since Ipsos iris launched in January 2023.
"It is great to start the new year strong with 13 million Australians turning to news.com.au in January,” said Editor-in-Chief at News.com.au, Lisa Muxworthy. “We also had the largest gap [1.657 million Australians] between us and our nearest competitor since June last year."
News.com.au was the most-read news website in every Australian state. Ipsos iris, Australia’s digital audience measurement currency endorsed by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), provides accurate data about the 21 million Australians aged 14+ who access a wide variety of digital content and services across Smartphone, PC/Laptop and Tablet devices.
"We led in all categories, with huge growth from our finance and lifestyle teams, and were the most-read news website in every state," Muxworthy added.
