Binance celebrates bitcoin pizza day with global campaign
Cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, is gearing up to celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day on 22 May with a global campaign.
The campaign will include a series of pizza-themed events across more than 20 countries, across 5 continents, reaching Asia, Africa, South America, Europe, and Australia, even meeting traders at their desk where possible.
The festivities will include in-person pizza parties, custom Binance-branded pizza vans, and pizza deliveries. Over the course of six days, Binance plans to distribute over 5,000 pizzas globally.
Bitcoin Pizza Day commemorates the first real-world commercial Bitcoin transaction, where programmer Laszlo Hanyecz purchased two pizzas for 10,000 bitcoins in 2010. In Australia, Binance is partnering with Web3 creative agency Take3 and the Australian DeFi Association for a Pizza Party at DOC Pizza in Surrey Hills, Sydney. The campaign will feature a series of events and games, with attendees having the opportunity to win exclusive Binance swag.
"Understanding the demands on our users and traders is paramount to us, so that’s why, knowing how busy they are, we aim to bring the celebration right to their doorstep," said Binance's Chief Marketing Officer, Rachel Conlan. "Through initiatives like this, we're not only celebrating the real-world utility of cryptocurrency but also catering to the needs of our busy trading community."
