Michael Kors first retailer to deploy Mastercard's AI shopping muse: pilot shows 15-20% higher conversions

Michael Kors, the world-renowned designer of luxury accessories and ready-to-wear, has become the first retailer to adopt Shopping Muse, an AI-powered shopping assistant developed by Mastercard company, Dynamic Yield. The technology aims to recreate the in-store experience online by using generative AI to translate consumer language into tailored product recommendations.

The technology has been integrated into the Michael Kors website in the U.S., with initial tests showing a 15-20% higher conversion rate compared to traditional search queries. Shopping Muse was launched in late 2023 and was initially extended to fashion retailers. The technology is now also available to furniture retailers, broadening its potential impact on the retail industry.

"As a trailblazer in ready-to-wear fashion, Michael Kors is a perfect example of how to put our ready-to-use technology to use. Shopping Muse is helping translate the signature Michael Kors service to the digital world, delivering a satisfying shopping experience as singular and impactful as the brand’s aesthetic," said Ori Bauer, CEO of Dynamic Yield.

Michael Kors, with stores in prestigious cities worldwide and digital flagships across North America, Europe, and Asia, is a prime example of a brand leveraging technology to enhance the online shopping experience. Meanwhile, Mastercard, a global technology company in the payments industry with connections across more than 210 countries and territories, continues to innovate and expand its reach in the retail sector.
