Brightcove unveils new player platforms for Roku, Samsung and LG Smart TVs

Streaming technology player, Brightcove, has launched new player platforms for Roku, Samsung, and LG Smart TVs for content production, monetisation and analytics reporting.

The new SDKs are designed to reduce the cost and speed of high-quality app development, enabling media companies to more effectively target the Smart TV platforms. Brightcove's SDKs support client-side and server-side ad insertion (CSAI, SSAI) and integrate with digital advertising partners. Specifically, the SDKs are designed to unlock advanced features within Brightcove’s player framework, including content protection, monetisation, and analytics reporting capabilities.

“Brightcove is committed to helping media companies deliver engaging and world-class reliable streaming experiences while reducing the costs traditionally associated with launching and running an OTT service," Chief Product Officer at Brightcove, Scott Levine, said. "Our comprehensive platform enables media companies to benefit from out-of-the-box functionality and deliver premium app experiences with features previously only available in bespoke custom app development - at a fraction of the cost."

Brightcove's Roku SDK complies with the Roku Advertising Framework (RAF), facilitating the certification process for customers. The SDKs offer sophisticated content security capabilities, including multi-format DRM support, playback rights restrictions, and HDCP Fallback.

Brightcove’s industry-leading Insights solutions come pre-integrated with the SDKs, providing media companies with data to optimise ad breaks, improve player performance, identify content performance trends, and measure impacts on viewer engagement.

Brightcove has partnered with a collection of video app developers, including Accedo, Applicaster, Appsfactory, Arx.net/SoEasyTV, Enveu, Pulsellive, Spyrosoft BSG, Robosoft Technologies, and TV2Z. The company operates in more than 60 countries.
