HERO appoints Ken Chan as head of planning amidst rapid growth

Ken Chan has been appointed as the Head of Planning at HERO, an independent Australian agency. Known for his diverse knowledge base, Chan is a brand, marketing, and CX strategy veteran, bringing a wealth of experience to his new role.

Chan's previous roles include Management Consultant in Strategy & Digital Transformation at Accenture, and Head of Strategy at VML and Hardhat. His extensive career has seen him work with a variety of industries and brands, including NAB, Google, Coles, Ford, Microsoft, AAMI, Defence Force Australia, and Officeworks.

Ben Lilley, Creative Chairman and Founder of HERO, praised Chan's strategic approach and his unique combination of brand and CX experience. "Ken is well known and well respected across Melbourne for his incisive approach to sharp, lean and insightful strategy. His combination of brand and CX experience in both senior agency and consultancy roles is unique. Anyone who knows Ken will also know he is just a lovely guy too. We couldn’t be more pleased to have him joining HERO," said Lilley.

Chan expressed his excitement about joining HERO and contributing to the strategy front. "It’s an exciting time to be joining a rapidly growing independent agency like HERO. HERO's recent growth and award wins include accolades for Maybelline’s Cannes Lions winning 'Through Their Eyes' campaign at Spikes Asia and the Gerety’s, and Toyota’s new bZ4X TVC lead campaign, 'Barry'. HERO's client roster includes Bakers Delight, Bumble, Calbee, Centrum, Mastercard, Maybelline, Reckitt, Simply Energy, Sirena, and Toyota.
