Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts launches 2024 'Kilo of Kindness' campaign

Accor's Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has launched its ninth annual 'Kilo of Kindness' initiative, inviting guests, 'Heartists', and local communities to donate food items, clothing, and educational supplies, which will then be distributed to local charity partners.

The initiative spans 75 hotels and resorts across 30 countries and will run from 14 October to 15 November 2024.

Mövenpick hotels across Australia and New Zealand are supporting the initiative in various ways, partnering with local charities such as Uniting Food for Families, Hobart Women’s Shelter, Auckland City Mission, and Wellington City Mission.

Since its inception in 2015, the 'Kilo of Kindness' initiative has amassed over 90,000 kg of donations.

Global President of Premium Brands at Accor, Benoît Racle, said: “Mövenpick’s Kilo of Kindness campaign embodies our unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the communities we serve.”

General Manager of Mövenpick Hotel Melbourne on Spencer, Cory Norris-Jones, said: “At Mövenpick Hotel Melbourne on Spencer, we want to extend true hospitality beyond our hotel doors and into the heart of the community.”

General Manager of Mövenpick Hotel Hobart, Andrew Walling, said: “At Mövenpick Hobart, we know that when we pull together as a community, we can drive change for those that need it most.”

General Manager of Mövenpick Hotel Auckland, Sean Slattery, said: “Supporting Auckland City Mission is a natural extension of our commitment to our city. With the help of our guests and Heartists, we're proud to match donations kilo for kilo, to support the important work of the Mission.”

General Manager of Mövenpick Hotel Wellington, Atif Khan, said: "At Mövenpick Hotel Wellington, supporting our local community is at the heart of what we do. Partnering with Wellington City Mission gives us the opportunity to give back. We're proud to play a small role in helping the Mission's mana-enhancing social supermarket.”
