Lorikeet raises US$5m to expand its customer support workflow automation engine

Lorikeet, a workflow automation engine designed for complex customer support, has secured US$5M in a seed funding round.

The round was led by an undisclosed investor, with participation from Skip Capital and strategic angel investors from the US. Notable investors include Stripe’s ex-COO, Claire Johnson, the COO of Linear, Cristina Cordova, Bob Van Winden, the ex-Head of Support at Stripe, and executives from Brex, Rippling, OpenAI, and Retool.

Lorikeet was founded by Steve Hind and Jamie Hall. Hind has a background in BCG, Harvard Business School, Bridgewater, Stripe, and Watershed. Hall was one of the original research engineers on Google’s Bard project and a former central banker at the RBA. The team at Lorikeet includes high-calibre talent from Stripe, Atlassian, Dropbox, Canva, and Dovetail.

"We’re thrilled to join Steve, Jamie, and the Lorikeet team as they build the world’s best workflow automation engine for complex customer support," said the undisclosed lead investor. The investor also expressed admiration for the team's speed of execution, customer love, and unique approach to a rapidly growing category.

Lorikeet's product is a customer support workflow automation engine that can be deeply embedded into companies’ tooling stacks. According to the press release, "Lorikeet is solving this calculus. The team has built a customer support workflow automation engine that can be deeply embedded into companies’ tooling stacks."

The company's customers include Australian health-tech Eucalyptus and US fintech unicorn Step. The press release states, "Support leaders at Lorikeet’s customers—including Australian health-tech Eucalyptus or US fintech unicorn Step—report similar or higher CSAT to human agents at a fraction of the speed and cost."

The funds raised in this round will be used to support Lorikeet's expansion into the US market. A third of Lorikeet’s customers are in the US, and the company is growing its team on the ground in the US. The press release added, "With the funds raised in this round, Lorikeet is well on its way to bridging this gap, working with the product, engineering, and operations teams at leading fintech and health tech companies to deliver amazing customer support faster and more efficiently than ever before."

Lorikeet is currently hiring founding engineers as it continues to grow and expand its operations.
