Nine says Paris 2024 Olympics shatters Australian viewing records

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games, broadcast on 9Now, have set new records in Australia, making it the most viewed Games ever in the country. Australians consumed a staggering 426 million total minutes on 9Now on the day of the event, marking the highest minutes ever consumed for the platform.

From the period of 24th to 28th July, the Olympic Games recorded 658 million minutes across 9Now. The platform has seen an additional 18% incremental reach to the live broadcast channels, demonstrating the power of cross-platform broadcasting.

Nearly 13.5 million viewers in total have tuned into the Games on Nine's live broadcast, live stream, and on-demand channels. On the second day of competition, 9Now delivered an 87.7% share of Nine's key demographic, people aged 25-54; and an 89.6% share of the valuable people 16-39 demographic.

9Now is streaming Nine's dedicated curated Olympic channels - Channel 9 and 9Gem - as well as offering up to 40 live streams. This cross-platform approach has allowed the broadcaster to reach a wider audience and provide viewers with a variety of content options.

Matt Granger, Nine's Director of Sales - Sports, has commented on the success of the event. "We promised the greatest cross platform event ever and that's what we are delivering. All our advertisers who have bought campaigns on Nine and 9Now are reaping the benefits of our massive Total television audiences. This is today's television," said Granger.
