Pedestrian Group revamps job platform, aims to connect young creatives with dream roles
Pedestrian Group has announced the relaunch of Pedestrian JOBS, which it says is the most significant update to the platform in over a decade.
Since its inception in 2010, Pedestrian JOBS has connected tens of thousands of employers and job seekers, becoming a popular job marketplace for the creative industries. The revamped platform boasts a rejigged user experience, improved job-matching technology, and a design to better appeal to its young audience.
Mason Rook, CEO of Pedestrian Group, said the relaunch is part of the group's vision to help young Australians find roles that align with their passions and creativity.
“Pedestrian Group’s vision is to help young Australians feel heard and understood and with the relaunch of JOBS, we’re now making it easier for them to find roles that align with their passions and creativity. This new platform reflects not just a technology upgrade but a deeper commitment to supporting the next generation, empowering them to thrive in careers they love.”
To celebrate the relaunch, Pedestrian.TV has launched a new Careers vertical, offering career advice, tips for navigating jobs, and interviews from industry veterans. The new Careers vertical is designed to help young Australians, particularly Gen Z who are more likely to change jobs, craft their dream career.
“We know that younger Aussies — a.k.a. Gen Z — are more likely to change jobs than their millennial or Gen X peers,” said Head of Editorial Alex Bruce-Smith. “Last year, 13% of people aged 15 to 24 years old switched jobs. That’s why we’re proud to also be launching Careers, a content vertical dedicated to helping young Aussies craft their dream career, whatever that may look like.”
The content offering will include Insider Trading, an interview series featuring young creative Australians sharing their career journeys and lessons learned. Key features for employers on the revamped platform include enhanced brand and role visibility, improved dashboard, improved integration, simplified pricing, custom content, sponsorship and advertising opportunities, and a new payments partner, Stripe. For job seekers, the platform offers a user-friendly design, enhanced candidate profiles, job alerts, new social channels, and career insights.
