Anime platform Crunchyroll joins Prime Video's add-on subscriptions
Anime content platform Crunchyroll is coming to Australia via a new deal with Prime Video.
Crunchyroll offers a wide array of anime content, including over 40 titles from the latest anime season. The service will be accessible through Prime Video’s add-on subscriptions, expanding the range of entertainment options for Australian anime enthusiasts.
Its the 21st add-on subscription for Prime Video, joining other services such as Hayu, Paramount+, BritBox, beIN Sports, and ESPN. Prime members can choose from two Crunchyroll monthly memberships: Fan (AUD $10.99) or Mega Fan (AUD $13.99). Both memberships allow customers to stream the entire Crunchyroll library ad-free, with new episodes available shortly after their release in Japan. Mega Fan subscribers also have the ability to download titles for offline viewing.
Crunchyroll's library boasts 24,000 hours, 46,000 episodes, and more than 1,300 series and films. The platform is available in more than 200 countries and territories, making it a global destination for anime fans.
"Anime is hugely popular among Australians, and Prime Video is proud to continue to expand its unparalleled collection of premium entertainment with the introduction of Crunchyroll as an add-on subscription option," said Daniel Slepak, head of marketplace Prime Video Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Terry Li, EVP of Emerging Business at Crunchyroll, echoed this sentiment, stating, "The expansion of our Prime Video partnership opens the door for even more fans worldwide to dive into the thrilling worlds of anime."
