Data observability platform, Metaplane, has secured an investment from Snowflake Ventures in a Series A fundraising round led by Felicis Ventures.

The investment follows a significant increase in joint customers between the companies, as well as strategic product development. Metaplane has made several high-impact product investments specifically for joint customers with Snowflake, including deep integrations with Snowflake features such as Dynamic Tables, a Snowflake Native App, and achieving Premier partnership status after being the first data observability tool to achieve Snowflake's Technical Validation.

Joint customers of Metaplane and Snowflake include startups like Ramp, Klaviyo, and ClickUp, and enterprises like Bose and Sotheby's. Metaplane's near-term product roadmap for the Snowflake Data Cloud integration includes support for Snowflake features such as Tasks, Streams, Secure Data Share, Snowpipe, Snowpark, Snowflake Native Apps, Streamlit in Snowflake, and Snowpark Container Services.

With this latest investment, Metaplane's total funding now exceeds US$23 million, raised within the last two years. Other investors include Khosla Ventures, Flybridge, Y Combinator, Stage 2 Capital, B37, and SNR.

Metaplane's platform proactively detects data quality issues using proprietary ML-based anomaly detection, end-to-end column-level lineage, and tools to prevent incidents before they occur.
