Harvey Norman Holdings and Yoogalu face class action over product care rights
In a statement to the ASX, Harvey Norman Holdings Limited (HNHL) and its wholly-owned subsidiary Yoogalu Pty Limited (Yoogalu) have received an Originating Application and Statement of Claim regarding a class action.
The action, lodged on 18 September 2024, relates to products with Product Care rights sold by franchisees to customers. The proceedings include claims for compensation for an unspecified amount, interest and costs for the lead plaintiff and class action group members.
The company rejects the claims against it with HNHL and Yoogalu asserting they have complied with all relevant laws and they say they intend to defend the proceedings vigorously.
