Gen8 launches 'generative AI navigator' to upskill knowledge workers
GEN8, a consultancy specialising in generative AI strategy and training, is launching a new three-week online upskilling program called 'The Generative AI Navigator' (GAIN).
The program aims to help knowledge workers leverage the latest technologies available to businesses.
The company says GAIN has been developed to educate participants on how to use tools like ChatGPT strategically, effectively, and responsibly. The program is designed to appeal to individuals in knowledge-based roles who are keen to get started with generative AI. Tim Sharp, Founder and Principal at GEN8, has previously developed and launched the AI for Marketers course for the Scott Galloway-founded online training platform, Sectton.
The understanding marketers get from the Gen8 program will also help them to better assess the fire hose of new tools coming at them this year.
Speaking with Mi3 late last year, Sharp said, "We have a framework that allows you to assess what's coming, especially."
Marketers can expect an almost overwhelming number of Gen AI product pitches this year, "Every vendor is going to have a solution. Our broad framework is; 'Understand, apply, and govern.' Before we turn on the tools or go to use cases, we spend a lot of time discussing what is generative, versus what is more traditional AI in our type of model.
"Marketers have been touching AI in some form for a long, long time, whether it's through a news feed, or a programmatic media buying or personalisation. We make sure we spend a lot of time differentiating what is generative being the generation of new content across five types of foundational models. And only then when we're happy with that, do we start to look at the tools. And we find that that that that approach allows you to assess for your tools as they come."
Hands on
The interactive course is built around three hands-on workshops where participants will learn to use large language models, build virtual assistants, and explore emerging use cases like image/video/avatar generation. The program also focuses on responsible AI, including intellectual property, privacy, and socio-economic impact.
GEN8 provides generative AI strategy, training, and governance advisory to complex teams across APAC. Key features of the program include interactive workshops, flexibility in participation, and a shareable badge upon completion. There are two options for joining GAIN: 'Tailor for Business' for larger teams and clients looking for a customised program, and 'Individual or Smaller Team Intake' for individual professionals or smaller teams. The intake cost is set at $599 AUD per participant, with a 10% discount available for teams of five or more. The program fee excludes ChatGPT Plus ($20 USD).
The first intake is scheduled for February 16 - March 1, and scholarships will be offered to individuals between jobs or just starting their careers.
"Generative AI is revolutionising productivity, prompting millions to shape a new knowledge economy. Today, early adopters are experiencing heightened efficiency, but by 2030, technologies like Generative AI will redefine the traditional workday. However, Generative AI is still emerging, holding both promise and risk, with limited avenues for getting started.“ said Tim Sharp.
"Our aim with GAIN is to give people not just the skills to use these tools, but the knowledge to understand how they work which will help them to assess the safety and effectiveness of new tools as they come to market." added Sharp.
