Queensland Symphony Orchestra tunes into fintech veteran Renee Williams for sales and marketing leadership

The Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) has appointed Renee Williams as its new Director of Sales and Marketing.

Williams, who boasts a rich background in FinTech, finance, digital marketing, martech, revenue funnels and data, will work closely with Chief Executive Yarmila Alfonzetti and Senior Leadership Team.

Williams' appointment comes as a strategic move for QSO, which plays a significant role in Queensland's major performing arts sector. Her experience in leading large teams in a Fortune 500 FinTech organisation, coupled with her work in the education and superannuation industries, have been highlighted as a valuable asset to the orchestra's leadership team.

Williams previously spent five-and-a-half years with Global Payments, including two-and-a-half as head of digital and group internal sales. She was also the head of digital marketing for The Australian Institute of Personal Trainers, plus Foundation Education.

Alfonzetti expressed her confidence in Williams' ability to bring fresh and profitable strategies to the table.

"With a career deeply rooted in FinTech, finance, digital marketing, martech, revenue funnels and data, Renee has used her love of numbers to continuously find fresh, new, commercial, and profitable ways of running marketing and sales teams; a skill and a track record we were looking for," she said.

Williams expressed her excitement about her new role and the opportunity to contribute to the state's vibrant arts scene.

"Queensland is a phenomenal place to live and we have a world class orchestra that is accessible to our communities right across the state. I've joined at the perfect time, where new projects are being delivered and new ways of people experiencing the music are being explored," she said. ""The QSO is Queensland's orchestra, and my focus is getting more Queenslanders, of all ages, to come and experience their orchestra in action, because it really is so special."
