iHeart retains position as Australia's leading podcast publisher
ARN's iHeart has retained its position as the country's leading podcast publisher for the 43rd consecutive ranker.
This achievement is underpinned by a diverse range of podcasts that have captured the attention of Australian listeners, with iHeart holding five of the top 15 podcasts.
Among the top performers is Audioboom's Casefile, which has secured the #1 spot in the True Crime category and #2 overall, with a staggering 25.7 million downloads. Other iHeart podcasts in the top 15 include The Kyle & Jackie O Show, The Imperfects, and Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne, alongside the popular Stuff You Should Know.
Other noteworthy mentions include On Purpose with Jay Shetty, She's On The Money, and Audioboom's No Such Thing As A Fish. iHeart's original production, Your News Now, also made its mark, securing the #30 position overall.
In 2023, iHeart launched several new podcasts, including The Pool Room with Tony Armstrong, Double A Chattery, and Picture Discuss with Merrick Watts. These additions to their slate demonstrate iHeart's commitment to providing a diverse range of content to cater to the varied interests of their audience.
iHeart also announced a partnership with Indigenous Podcast Network BlakCast, introducing a new podcast, Find & Tell, hosted by journalist and author Jamila Rizvi. This partnership signifies iHeart's dedication to amplifying diverse voices and stories within the podcasting landscape.
Corey Layton, ARN's Head of Digital Audio, expressed his gratitude to the iHeart team and their partners, stating, "As the Podcast Ranker grows in importance, so has Australia's engagement with our slate that's enjoyed by over 75% of Australian Podcast Listeners. I wanted to thank our incredible partners and the iHeart team who continue to capture audience attention to be entertained, educated and to escape."
