Tonic Media Network and AHTV join forces with Deadly Science for National Science Week

Tonic Media Network and Aboriginal Health Television (AHTV) have announced a partnership with Deadly Science for National Science Week, which runs from 10th to 18th August 2024. The collaboration aims to promote Deadly Science's mission of creating STEM equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners.

The partnership will feature a series of educational content pieces for AHTV series, The Yarn, featuring scientists and Deadly Science’s Founder and CEO, Corey Tutt OAM. The content will be showcased on the AHTV network of over 230 screens located inside Aboriginal Medical Services (AMS) across Australia’s urban, regional and remote communities. The reach of the content will be further amplified by Deadly Science across their owned channels.

Isabelle Docker, AHTV’s Partnership Manager, described teaming up with Deadly Science as essential for AHTV.

"Our missions are aligned in connecting and encouraging mob through the use of story telling and education and empowering young mob all over Australia in Science, our History, the Environment and Health. It’s critical that we educate the kids in our communities that our people were the first scientists and doctors, allowing them to see themselves in these new spaces, with the aim to inspire learning about STEM and Medicine," she said. "This partnership is a huge step in the right direction. We're excited about the content we've created for National Science Week and can't wait to share it."

AHTV will also support Deadly Science initiatives throughout the year via fundraising and awareness driving through their broader network, corporate partners and team. The partnership was facilitated by UnLtd, a social purpose organisation connecting the media, marketing and creative industries with charities helping children and young people at risk.

Tara Van Toorn, Marketing Officer at DeadlyScience, expressed gratitude for the partnership, stating, "We're incredibly grateful to UnLtd for facilitating the partnership between DeadlyScience and the Tonic and AHTV team. This partnership perfectly aligns with our goals, vision, and the impact we aim to achieve.

"We have already kicked off a number of collaborative projects that will help us get our message across in community thanks to the reach of Tonic and AHTV. We are so excited to see the impact that this partnership will have for DeadlyScience in expanding our reach and amplifying our message."

Jade Harley, Director of Partnerships at UnLtd, also commented on the partnership, saying, "When we find such a strong value alignment and shared mission between our partners, we really see the magic happen, which is already evident between Tonic/AHTV and DeadlyScience."
