McDonald's Australia signs three-year Paralympics partnership
McDonald's Australia has announced a three-year partnership with Paralympics Australia and the Australian Paralympic Team as they prepare for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, which are set to commence on August 28 next year.
The fast-food giant's commitment extends beyond the Paris games, with plans to back Paralympics Australia's initiatives to enhance access to sport for the 20% of Australians living with a disability. This move aligns with McDonald's Australia's track record of providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. The company has previously partnered with Disability Service Providers including JobSupport, atWork, and JobCentre, as well as smaller providers in local communities.
Emma Napoli-Hala, McDonald's Australia's Chief People Officer, said: 'We are very proud of our long-standing focus on diversity, equity and inclusion... We’re excited to partner with Paralympics Australia and support our amazing Para-athletes on their journey to the Paris Paralympics and beyond,' she said.
Paralympics Australia Chief Executive Catherine Clark echoed Napoli-Hala's enthusiasm. 'Joining forces with McDonald’s Australia, an organisation so many of us know and love, is another big step forward in lifting the profile of our incredible Australian Paralympic Team as they prepare for the Paris Games... This is a new partnership with immense potential and I’m very excited to see what our two organisations can achieve together,' Clark stated.
