Integral Ad Science unveils inaugural responsibility report, tackling adtech's carbon footprint and diversity

Ad verification vendor, Integral Ad Science (IAS), has unveiled its inaugural Responsibility Report, setting out its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives for 2022-2023.

The report addresses significant challenges in the adtech sector, including energy usage, decarbonisation in digital advertising, and diversity. IAS has taken significant steps to reduce its energy consumption, focusing on Scopes 2 and 3, which encompass energy usage in offices and data centres. The company has relocated its London team to a building powered entirely by renewable energy.

In a bid to reduce carbon emissions in digital advertising, IAS has engaged in initiatives and partnerships aimed at tracking and optimising the carbon footprint of ad campaigns. This move comes amidst growing concerns about the environmental impact of the digital advertising industry.

Diversity is another key focus area for IAS. The report reveals 43% of the company's workforce identifies as a race other than white, and 40% identifies as female. The Board of Directors is majority-female and includes three members from underrepresented racial groups, two of whom identify as African American.

IAS's CSR initiatives extend beyond its internal operations. The company's 'Share Lunch, Fight Hunger' drive exceeded donation goals, providing meals for 24,000 children. This achievement underscores IAS's commitment to making a positive impact on the broader global community.

In 2023, IAS gained multiple industry accreditations and certifications, highlighting its commitment to viewability, transparency, and data privacy compliance. The company's data collection captures 280 billion interactions daily from across the globe, underscoring the scale of its operations.

The Responsibility Report was prepared in line with reporting standards, utilising the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) framework. This move demonstrates IAS's commitment to transparency and accountability in its CSR initiatives.
