Former Movember director Troy Muir joins Lifechanger as marketing and tech executive

Troy Muir, former director of digital experience at Movember, has joined the ranks of LifeChanger, a not-for-profit organisation focused on preventative mental health and wellbeing. Muir will serve as the new marketing and technology executive, bringing his extensive experience in digital platforms and AI to the table.

Muir spent the last three years as global director of digital experience and channels for Movember, where he managed end-to-end digital capability across various platforms. His tenure saw the launch of the Movember app, now used by over 100,000 users annually.

Prior to Movember, Muir served as director of digital and direct channels at the Heart Foundation. Here, he oversaw the NFP's digital transformation and played a key role in delivering its Effie Award-winning Serial Killer campaign. His resume also includes leading digital operations at flybuys and a stint agency-side at We Are Digital as head of insights and CRM.

In his new role at LifeChanger, Muir will report directly to CEO Scott Watters. Established in 2016, LifeChanger runs preventative mental health programs for young people from Year 5 through to Year 12. The organisation also trains teachers, parents, and local community members as mentors.

"I'm in awe of what Scott and the team have accomplished in just a few short years already. And they're only just beginning," Muir said.

LifeChanger is on track this year to directly support over 150,000 kids across Australia, New Zealand and Africa and has a plan to positively impact 1 million young people annually.

"To date, LifeChanger has been doubling every year without having really tapped into consumer fundraising channels at all, growing almost exclusively through outstanding partnerships. The strategic opportunity for growth and impact is immense when you look at the brand, the measurable impact they have on the ground and the wide reaching and acute understanding the community has of the youth mental health crisis at hand," Muir added.

"These factors converging has made joining the LifeChanger mission an easy decision for me." Muir officially took up the position at LifeChanger in July.
