Opera titans Plácido Domingo and José Carreras set to woo Australia in 2024
In a big announcement for opera enthusiasts, world-renowned singers Plácido Domingo and José Carreras have declared their return to Australia in 2024 for their tour, ‘The Legends Together Again, Live in Concert’. The tour, which is set to commence on 7th March at the RAC Arena in Perth, will also feature performances in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Adelaide.
The concert promises an eclectic mix of iconic arias, duets, ensembles, Broadway songs, Neapolitan songs, and classic hits. Adding to the grandeur of the event, the performance will also include a high-profile Australian soprano and a 55-piece orchestra, under the baton of globally recognised conductor, Maestro David Giménez.
Plácido Domingo, a tenor and baritone, is a household name in the world of opera. With a repertoire of over 150 roles in more than 4500 performances, Domingo's talent and versatility are indisputable. His partner on stage, José Carreras, is a Spanish operatic tenor celebrated for his rich voice. Carreras boasts a repertoire of over 60 operas and more than 600 titles, further cementing his status as an opera titan.
David Giménez, the conductor for the tour, is a globally recognised figure who has led prominent orchestras and soloists in venues worldwide. His expertise will undoubtedly add a layer of finesse to the performances.
