Lego ANZ appoints Justine McLennan to head marketing as Nine's Lego Masters behind fastest segment: Adults

LEGO Australia and New Zealand has announced the appointment of Justine McLennan Senior Director and Head of Marketing, as the company continues to post double digit growth and adults are now its fastest growing market here.

Lego ANZ Vice President Troy Taylor told Mi3 last year in this podcast and feature with Initiative's Chief Strategy Officer, Chris Coulter, that the business was growing 'double digits' and the Lego Masters series on Nine was in part driving the surging demand for Lego among adults.

McLennan, meanwhile, joined the LEGO Group in 2009 as a Marketing Assistant, has steadily climbed the ranks within the organisation over the past 15 years. She has been instrumental in the development and execution of some of the company's most significant campaigns across Australia and New Zealand, including the award-winning 'Build Your LEGO Christmas' campaign in 2016.

In 2021, McLennan was promoted to Brand Director for Australia & New Zealand, where she led the redesign of the LEGO portfolio differentiation strategy and the go-to-market principles. Her efforts have been recognised by her peers across the region with the prestigious John Peddie Award for demonstrating and living the LEGO values.

From 1st March, McLennan will assume leadership of the LEGO Australia & New Zealand Marketing Team and join the Leadership Team for the region, reporting to Troy Taylor.

Taylor commented on the appointment: "We are so pleased to promote a home-grown talent in Justine to our Head of Marketing role for Australia & New Zealand. Founded in Billund, Denmark in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen, the LEGO Group remains a family-owned company.
