Crowded House land on cover of Rolling Stone AU/NZ's Winter issue

Rolling Stone AU/NZ has named Australian band Crowded House as its cover stars for the magazine's June-August issue, following the band's receipt of the Rolling Stone Icon Award earlier this year.

The cover story will feature an in-depth exploration of the band's various iterations and their ongoing pursuit of artistry and authenticity. Current band members include Neil Finn, Nick Seymour, Mitchell Froom, Liam Finn, and Elroy Finn.

Nick Seymour, band co-founder and bassist, contributed to the cover design by painting the band's name in red letters.

"Everyone in Crowded House shares the history, and that’s the great thing about this lineup. It’s different to what it was, but it’s got as much soul to my mind as any lineup we’ve had. And potentially it might be our greatest lineup, by whatever measure you use. It feels like we’ve got massive trust now," said Neil Finn.

Liam Finn spoke about his father's relentless dedication to music. "Dad is always going to be working on songs, pushing himself to the edge of madness. He’s the hardest working person I know in the world. And for better or for worse, it just won’t stop."

The June-August issue of Rolling Stone AU/NZ will also feature 25 artists from Australia and Aotearoa who are set to shape the future of music.

Rolling Stone AU/NZ Editor-in-Chief, Poppy Reid, said: "Rolling Stone has long been the kind of purveyor of culture that sits at the epicentre of music’s big moments. The excitement and undoubted cultural shift that comes with a new Crowded House album was always going to be something we wanted to be part of. For most of us, Crowded House has existed in the patchwork of our love for music since the very beginning. For some, it was the very first stitch. So to be part of a new Crowded House era, and to be invited into their private universe (pun intended), was a privilege."
