Jetstar, Thinkerbell launch 'world's most amatuer surf comp'

Jetstar and Thinkerbell have partnered to launch the Jetstar Classic, a surf competition held on the Gold Coast. The event, which has been dubbed the world's most amateur surf competition, was open to Australians who had never surfed or even set foot in the ocean.

Three participants were selected from a diverse group of hopefuls across the nation and flown to the Gold Coast by Jetstar for the competition. The event was not about catching the biggest waves, but rather about having fun and capturing the spirit of Australia's love for the beach. Professional surfers, Vaughan Blakey and Jesse Starling, supervised the event.

The grand prize for the competition was a trip to Hawaii, the home of surfing. The winner of the competition will be announced on Jetstar Australia's Instagram page.

Thinkerbell Head Thinker Belle Thompson said: "The Jetstar Classic was a celebration of having a go and enjoying the ride, no matter your skill level. With the lowest airfares and incredible destinations, Jetstar have made it easier than ever to pack your bags and get outta here."
