Matilda's goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold teams up with Audika to tackle hearing loss stigma

Audika, a prominent player in the Australian hearing health care sector, has unveiled a health awareness partnership with Mackenzie Arnold, the Matilda's Goalkeeper. The collaboration aims to dismantle the stigma associated with hearing loss and inspire Australians to prioritise their auditory health.

Arnold, who has been candid about her personal experience with hearing loss, will serve as an ambassador and advocate for the cause. Her role will involve leveraging her social media presence to share her journey and encourage others to get their hearing checked.

"We are proud to support Mackenzie with her hearing health as a part of our exciting new partnership. She is such an incredible athlete and role model for Australians, and we can't wait to see how together we can raise awareness for hearing loss and support Australians on their journey to better health," said Duncan Armour, Marketing Director for Audika Australia.

Arnold said: "Hearing loss is something I care deeply about, it's very personal to me, and I hope to use my voice to inspire Australians to take care of their health and break the stigma around hearing loss. My brother has always worn hearing devices and was a big inspiration for me to get my hearing checked. I hope to be a role model for other kids with hearing loss," she said.

Audika, with over 300 clinics nationwide, provides high-quality expertise and care for hearing loss ranging from very mild to severe. The company's commitment to this cause is underscored by a recent survey it commissioned. The study revealed that over a third of people with hearing issues report that their social life has been negatively impacted by poor hearing.

Furthermore, the survey found that more than half of respondents (51%) who do not "always" use a hearing aid, said they would avoid wearing one for as long as possible. A further 37% of the respondents who report hearing issues say that they don't wear a hearing aid but would benefit from one.
