Former M&C Saatchi execs the latest to go indie with new creative offering 'Bureau of Everything'

Former M&C Saatchi executives Cam Blackley and Emily Taylor are the latest to hit the local ad market with their own take on a creative agency model, debuting their new 'creative office' 'Bureau of Everything'.

The industry veterans, who until recently held the roles of chief creative officer and chief strategy officer at M&C Saatchi, have said their new offering is designed to meet the demands of an increasingly complex world. The agency will introduce a more progressive creative model, combining world-class strategy and creativity at its core. Jeff Goodby, Founder of GS+P, has joined the Bureau's advisory board, lending his expertise to this innovative venture.

“I'm really impressed by Cam and Emily's determination to bring a whole new way of interacting with clients in order to get things right. It’s about time," said Goodby.

According to the founders, the Bureau of Everything is designed to answer a critical question often posed by clients: 'What is my business problem and how will you solve it?' The office is structured to be super senior, leaner, and flexible, mixing brand and digital skills and uniting business and brand thinkers. This structure allows the team to shape its services depending on the brief, providing a bespoke solution for each client.

“Bureau is a response to what we have been hearing from clients for years,” said Blackley. “Opting for a strat/creative directorship as the core for more impactful problem solving. We want to partner with brands and people who are also feeling the urgency for change.”

The agency exists to make things that are as unmissable as the world they live in. “There is no alternative unless you like setting piles of money on fire," said Blackley.

“We are purposefully super senior, purposefully leaner, and purposefully flexible. Mixing brand and digital skills, uniting business and brand thinkers with the ability to shape teams depending on the brief. This model allows us to always have a rock solid foundation but still be bespoke and importantly, a lot less ‘cookie cutter’," said Taylor.

Blackley and Taylor bring over 40 years of collective experience to the Bureau, along with a slew of awards including dozens of Effies, a D&AD Black Pencil, and a Titanium Cannes Lion. In their four years together at M&C Saatchi, they won two Gold Effies, the LA Short Film Festival for Tourism Australia’s ‘G’day’ the movie, and the honour of most watched TED Talk in 2021 for Minderoo’s Thrive By 5.

The Bureau of Everything is already working on a brand relaunch and a series of consulting projects.
