Ethnolink acquires Language Professionals, expanding its multicultural communications footprint

Ethnolink, Australia's largest multicultural communications agency, has acquired Language Professionals, a Sydney-based translation agency with a 35-year history, for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition is about helping Ethnolink, the only Australian multicultural communications agency with ISO Certification for Translation Services (ISO-17100), further solidify its position in the market.

Language Professionals, led by Max Doerfler and Françoise Le Cossec, has a reputation for servicing government and corporate clients. The agency will continue to operate under its own brand within the Ethnolink group. Clients of Language Professionals will gain access to Ethnolink’s suite of multicultural communications services.

"Language Professionals is an extraordinary business built by highly regarded industry stalwarts, Max and Françoise. There is a strong philosophical alignment between Language Professionals and Ethnolink’s personnel, including a commitment to a world-class client experience, and a focus on high-quality translation services,” said Costa Vasili, CEO of Ethnolink (pictured).

The acquisition comes as part of Ethnolink's growth strategy in the Sydney market. Ethnolink, headquartered in Melbourne with offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth, now boasts over 50 full-time staff, making it the largest specialist multicultural communications agency in Australia.

"We are delighted to be turning over Language Professionals to a company that shares our commitment to quality services. Costa’s dedication to providing high-quality services and Ethnolink’s vision for enhancing multicultural communications align perfectly with our values. This acquisition ensures our clients will continue to receive the highest level of service they have come to expect from Language Professionals whilst also benefiting from Ethnolink's innovative service offerings," said Max Doerfler, Director of Language Professionals.

Ethnolink’s NSW State Manager and the new Account Manager for Language Professionals' clients, Ana Barciela, was also thrilled to support the clients of Language Professionals with high-quality translation services.

"NSW is an increasingly diverse state, and public communications need to reflect our diversity," she said.

The acquisition follows recent recognition of Vasili as one of Australia's Top 100 Young Entrepreneurs by Business News Australia and the unveiling of Ethnolink Edge, a bespoke technology platform designed to streamline multilingual campaigns across Australia.

Language Professionals has a strong presence with NSW Government departments and agencies, and Australian Government clients such as the Fair Work Ombudsman and Services Australia, as well as corporate clients like Qantas and KPMG. Language Professionals' said one of its most pivotal projects was translating Australia's 2000 Sydney Olympics bid into French and Spanish, helping towards the awarding of the 2000 Olympics to Sydney.
