Box appoints Tricia Gellman as CMO to accelerate its path to $2bn revenue

Box, which frames itself as the Intelligent Content Cloud, has announced the appointment of Tricia Gellman as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Gellman, who brings over two decades of experience from leading technology companies such as Salesforce and Adobe, is tasked with accelerating Box's ambitious goal of reaching $2 billion in revenue.

Gellman's impressive track record includes a tenure at Salesforce, where the company's annual revenue grew from $1 billion to $13 billion. She also served as Chief Marketing Officer for Salesforce Canada and played a key role in Adobe's global success, leading InDesign to global success and unifying the product line into the Creative Suite business.

"90 percent of the data in an enterprise is unstructured and the vast majority of that data is content. Box has an incredible opportunity to lead a revolution in how businesses manage and unlock the value of their content with AI," Gellman said.

Box's platform delivers AI-powered collaboration, workflow automation, and security. As CMO of both Checkr and Drift, Gellman created unified go-to-market strategies, orchestrated demand across verticals, and enabled solution-selling best practices. More recently, she has served as an advisor to a variety of companies, including several within the Scale Ventures and NEA Ventures portfolios.

"We're thrilled to welcome Tricia to Box as our new CMO. At Box, we are pioneering the new category of Intelligent Content Management, helping our more than 100,000 customers leverage secure, enterprise-grade AI to transform how they work with content," said Aaron Levie, CEO of Box.

"I look forward to solidifying Box's leadership position in Intelligent Content Management, delivering solutions and powering valuable new use cases throughout the enterprise. I'm excited to join Box at this pivotal time in the company's journey," Gellman added.
